KARACHI: The Government is all set to invite consultants to bid for the construction and development of a multibillion rupees transmission project in Sindh that will curtail the power loss of an estimated 69 megawatts, an official document showed.
The document said the contract will be awarded after the international competitive bidding and during the execution a consultant will be hired to make sure that all the contractual arrangements are fulfilled. The project has an estimated cost of Rs4.153 billion, including Rs2.274 billion as local and Rs1.879 billion as foreign exchange components. The project envisages the installation and construction of new 220 kilovolts sub-station at Mirpur Khas to meet growing power demand of areas coming under the jurisdiction of Hyderabad Electric Supply Company. The loss savings after completion of the project are calculated at 68.8 megawatts. The Government has prepared the bidding documents as per the guidelines of do**r agencies, official said. An official said the project will be financed by Asian Development Bank under tranche-I of multi-tranche financing facility. The power generation capacity is increasing day by day. Therefore, there is a need to enhance the transmission and transformation capacity of the National transmission and Des***** Company’s (NTDC) system. The official said there is an immediate requirement of enhancing the capacity of the existing grid stations by addition and augmentation of 500 and 220KV transformers keeping in view the present loading position and increasing trend of the power demand in near future. In June, the Central Development Working Party cleared 220kV Mirpur Khas Substation along with associated transmission lines. The project will improve voltage profile and network reliability and lessen the load on power transformers. The NTDC is executing the project. Hyderabad power distributor manages to supply only 55 percent of the total demand of 1,050 megawatts during peak hours to its 970,000 consumers; 80 percent of them are domestic users. It bears an average 26 percent line losses. أكثر... ??????? ??????: Government to invite consultants for Rs4bln transmission project || ??????: ahlam1399 || ??????: اسم منتداك
