   LOS ANGELES — While the media closely monitors the percentage of Women directing hundreds of ****** and TV shows, the advertising industry — where many directors get their start — quietly churns out commercials by the thousands. Though a huge swath of ads target female consumers, guess what? Women are calling the shots on these projects roughly as often as they are in Hollywood. Which is to say, hardly at all.
