Prices of daily-use items go up
From Our Correspondent TOBA TEK SINGH: As Eid is ahead, prices of essential kitchen items and fruits went up here. The consumers complained that chicken meat was available at Rs 190 per kg two days ago but **w it rose to Rs 225 per kg and ginger was being sold at Rs 80 per kg just two days ago but it was **w available at Rs 150 to Rs 160 per kg. Similarly, onion price had increased from Rs 20 per kg to Rs 35 per kg, of green chilly from Rs 30 per kg to Rs 100 per kg, of garlic from Rs 180 per kg to Rs 250 per kg, of lemon from Rs 90 per kg to Rs 250 per kg and of tomato from Rs 35 per kg to Rs 100 per kg. The prices of Sindhri and Chaunsa mangoes also rose from Rs 100 per kg to Rs 150 per kg and of banana from Rs 75 per dozen to Rs 150 per dozen. The fruit and vegetable market commission agents said that the prices went up due to dry weather and shortage of supply of fruits and kitchen items owing to Eid holidays. أكثر...
