KHANEWAL: Eight people including seven belonging to the same family died in a road accident on Friday.
Taj, a resident of Shahdara, along with his family visited the house of his daughter-in-law in Khanewal when the van overturned soon after they set back for home. As a result of the dreadful accident, seven family members including Taj, his wife Haseena, son Ijaz, two daughters, two daughters-in-law and the driver of van were killed. The deceased Ijaz got engaged with a relative girl in Khanewal some two months ago and the family was on visit to their house when on return they met the tragic accident.
Separately, a passenger van carrying passengers plunged into the canal Head Qadirabad near Gujranwala on Friday. According to a private news channel, three passengers died while five others injured have been shifted to district hospital Hafizabad. Rescue teams rescued the rest of the passengers. The cause of the accident was k**wn to be overtaking with a truck.
