Stranded Pakistanis in Saudi Arabia seek govt?s help
DAMMAM: Dozens of Pakistani workers, who are trapped in Saudi Arabia’s Dammam city, have once again appealed to Pakistan for help.
Pakistani workers have been trapped in Dammam for more than two months after expiry of their Iqama. They have also been deprived of their monthly salaries due to financial problems of their employer. According to victims, two members from Pakistani Embassy visited them and left after saying “please pray”. According to a private television channel, Foreign ****** spokesperson Nafees Zakariya said the Saudi authorities have ensured to address their problems at earliest. Earlier on June 23, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs had informed that the Embassy of Pakistan in Riyadh is making efforts to address the suffering of Pakistani workers in Dammam on account of **n-payment of their dues by a construction company. “The embassy has been in touch with Pakistanis facing the issue, and also the company administration. On 18 May, the embassy representative, who deals with legal matters, visited the company and met our expatriates, who were facing the issue of **n payment.
