Poland, Portugal face UEFA disciplinary probes *
Paris: Poland and Portugal´s football authorities became the latest to come under scrutiny from UEFA as European football´s governing body opened disciplinary proceedings against both federations on Friday.
Portugal progressed to the semi-finals of Euro 2016 with a 5-3 penalty shootout win in Marseille after the teams were tied at 1-1 after extra-time. The Polish Football Federation (PZPN) face sanctions for the setting off of fireworks, crowd disturbances and a delay to kick-off. Meanwhile, the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) could also be punished for the setting off of fireworks and field invasions by supporters as one fan ran towards superstar Cristia** Ronaldo after entering the pitch in extra-time. The FPF had already been cited by UEFA when a fan ran onto the field to take a picture with Ronaldo at the end of their 0-0 draw with Austria on June 18th. Both cases will be dealt with by the UEFA Control, Ethics and disciplinary Body on 21 July.
