DSP, cop gunned down in DI Khan
They said unidentified persons opened fire on Deputy Superintendent of Police **or Muhammad Khan as soon as he stepped out of a mosque in Khairabad Colony near his residence after the Maghrib prayers. The assailants escaped after committing the crime. Following the incident, a large contingent of the police reached the spot and cordoned off the area. A search operation was also started in the area to nab the perpetrators. The body was taken to the Dera Ismail Khan Police Lines for funeral prayers after an autopsy at the District Headquarters Hospital in Dera Ismail Khan. A large number of police officials as well as civil society members attended the final rituals.It may be mentioned here that target killing has been on the rise in the province for quite some time. Over 20 police officials have been targetted so far in Khyber Pakhtun-khwa. Meanwhile, unk**wn assailants shot dead a policeman in Madina Colony here on Thursday, official sources said.They said that gunmen opened fire on Constable Shahzeb when he was on way to his residence after withdrawing Rs18,000 from an automated tilling machine in Madina Colony. However, the assailants escaped after killing the cop without touching the money in his pocket. Police officials said personal feud could be a motive behind the killing. Rescue 1122 personnel took the body to a hospital which was later handed over to the relatives after autopsy.The police have registered a case against unk**wn gunmen and started an investigation. أكثر...
