On Saturday, a video of the cast of hit musical*Les Misérables, which is currently running in Singapore, being tested on Singlish was posted on its Facebook page.

The two-and-a-half minute video showed how much the thespians struggled with pro**uncing and deducing the meanings of common words and phrases, which are a mix of Chinese and Malay loanwords with English.*
