Having shown internationally for the fourth year in a row, Pakistani designer Syeda Amera **t only made a name for herself in Paris (where she showed earlier this month) but she also won the Most Talented Young International Designer prize, awarded by show director Jessica Minh Anh. Amera has been part of Minh Anh’s exotic shows, infamous for unraveling unconventional catwalks. Her first showcase was on the Hudson River, NY followed by shows at the Gemasolar in Spain, the Costa Lumi**sa cruise ship in Sydney and this time, on the Seine River in Paris.
An iconic 100-metre-floating catwalk was constructed on the Seine River and to create an illusion of models walking on water, the show director had guests facing the multi-faceted glass ******* of Le Jean Bruel while the boat was cruising. As a result, architectural wonders such as the Eiffel Tower, **tre Dame, Louvre, and the 37 bridges became the natural backdrop for the catwalk.
The J Summer Fashion Show 2016 also premiered in**vative designs by Lebanese haute couturier Antoine Kareh, Polish designer Teresa Rosati, Icelandic jewellery brand **X, Saudi Arabian designer Ot Kutyr Turk Jadallah, Ukrainian brand LaFress and Philippine-based brand Miranda Konstantinidou. “Winning this award is a remarkable feeling,” Syeda Amera spoke to Instep. “To be recognized by professionals within my field is a tremendous ho**ur; I am ho**ured to k**w that I was selected out of so many other international designers from all around the world. The award has encouraged me to continue with the hard work. I feel like I have accomplished a lot but the sky is the limit.”
