From Our Correspondent PAKPATTAN: Citizens were robbed of cash and valuables on Friday. Mubashir Ali of Baharampur and his friends were going to Sahiwal in a car and on Sahiwal Road near Chak Haripur five bandits intercepted them and snatched cash and valuables from them. Muhammad Ashiq of Chak 80/EB was intercepted near Chak 78/EB by robbers and was robbed of cash, a cell phone, gold ring and other things worth Rs 58,000. Accused Tufail and his accomplices took away valuables worth Rs 35,000 from the demolished house of Zaib Khan of Shahu Baloch. Police have registered cases. BOOTLEGGERS HELD: Police arrested bootleggers and recovered liquor from their possession on Friday. Police arrested accused Zahid Mehmood of Fawara Chowk, PAKPATTAN with 10 litre liquor, Sher Ali of Chak 19.SP with 10 litres liquor, Shaukat of bridge Rakh, PAKPATTAN with 10 litre liquor, Shaban of Fareedabad, PAKPATTAN with eight litres liquor, Yaseen of Chak 65/D with 15 litre liquor, Shah Meer of Chak 60-D with 10 litre liquor, Fakhar Hayat of Chak 63/D with 450 gram charas. Police have registered cases. SIX POS ESCAPE: Six proclaimed offenders (POs) escaped with the help of their accomplices on Friday. Police reached Chak 52/EB to arrest a PO but he escaped with the connivance of Zeeshan. Police raided Pir Kot, PAKPATTAN to arrest PO Jehangir Ahmad but he was alerted by his accomplice Nazeer Ahmad and escaped. Police reached Chowk Kumaranwala, Arifwala to arrest a PO but with the help of his accomplice Ramazan he escaped. Police raided Ishfaqnagar, Qaboola, to arrest PO Arshad but he escaped with the help of his accomplice Idrees. Police reached Chak 131/EB to arrest PO Hafiz Rashad but he escaped with the help of Asif. Police reached Chak 91/EB to arrest PO Asghar but he escaped with the help his accomplice Nasir. Police have registered cases. FIVE HELD: Police arrested five people on charges of violating Ehtrame-Ramazan Ordinance.
