Directs ministry to ensure zero outages during Sehr, Iftar; asks his ****** to monitor timings of loadshedding
LONDON/ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was discharged from hospital on Monday, as doctors expressed satisfaction over his recovery. The wife of the prime minister Kulsoom Nawaz and his two sons Hassan Nawaz and Hussain Nawaz accompanied the premier on his way home. Before leaving for his home, the prime minister thanked the hospital staff and distributed sweets and chocolates among them.According to Hussain Nawaz, the prime minister’s health condition had improved and his blood reports were encouraging, adding that he had also started taking food. He said after reviewing the prime minister’s condition, the doctors had decided to discharge him from the hospital, but advised him to continue taking rest for a**ther week and a half. According to Hussain, the prime minister takes a walk every hour [as part of the recovery] and will visit the hospital again in a few days for his stitches to be opened. Following his surgery, the premier will be overseeing the affairs of the government from London. Earlier in the day, the premier’s daughter Maryam Nawaz had said that Nawaz Sharif will hopefully be discharged from hospital in the after**on as doctors were satisfied with his progress and latest test reports. Maryam tweeted on Monday saying “doctors satisfied with PM’s progress and latest reports. All being well, Insha’Allah PM will be discharged this after**on”. On Sunday, nearly a week after the premier underwent surgery, Maryam had an**unced that Nawaz Sharif’s recovery was on track. “PM’s recovery on course. Was made to walk several times in the corridor during the day, and up and down a flight of stairs twice,” Maryam tweeted. Since Nawaz was hospitalised, Maryam has takencharge of media management in the Sharif camp, feeding the press updates on her father’s medical condition. From an**uncing the prime minister’s decision to undergo the surgery, to tweeting his first picture after the procedure, Maryam’s Twitter feed has provided minute details about how much time the patient would spend inside the intensive care unit (ICU), as well as his tentative plans to come back home. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif underwent a successful open-heart surgery at a London hospital and was moved to an intensive care unit in a stable condition on Tuesday. He is expected to return to Pakistan before the end of Ramazan, Maryam said earlier. She added that “Three of his arteries were blocked. It will take five or six days for the prime minister to get discharged from the hospital and we expect that he will return home in three to four weeks.” Meanwhile, British High Commissioner Thomas Drew on Monday met Maryam and inquired about the health of her father. Drew said the United Kingdom would extend all-out cooperation in this regard, a PM’s ****** statement said. Earlier, the prime minister directed the Ministry of Water and Power to ensure ** power outages at the timings of Sehr and Iftar. The directive for uninterrupted power supply will be uniformly implemented for urban and rural areas.
