PESHAWAR: The family of Mullah AKhtar Mansour have confirmed reports that he had been killed in Saturday's drone strike.
According to details, Mansour's family confirmed all previous reports about the Taliban chief getting killed in an American drone strike. Mansour had been traveling in a vehicle at Taftan in Pakistan's southwestern province Balochistan.
Earlier today, United States President Barack Obama had also confirmed the news that Mullah Akhtar Mansour had been killed in the American drone strike. Obama had claimed that Mansour had been involved in attacks on the United States and its allies.
On Sunday, Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had said that Mansour's death was still **t confirmed. The drone strike seemed to have soured relations between Islamabad and Washington, as the former protested with the latter. The Foreign ****** of Pakistan said that the drone strike was an attack on Pakistan's sovereignty.
