Over the past 24 hours, the Afghan security forces with national defence, carried out an offensive to crush insurgents and protect people’s lives in a number of districts with the result of 130 suspected terrorists killed, including seven local commanders, 76 injured and two people arrested, the ministry said in a statement.
The joint operation was carried out in 18 out of 34 Afghan provinces, the ministry stated, adding that 10 Afghan servicemen lost their lives during the operation.
Afghanistan is in a state of political and social turmoil with Taliban insurgents
and other extremist factions, such as Islamic State, which is outlawed in Russia
and many other countries taking advantage of the ins-tability in the country.
