MQM decides **t to side with opposition on PanamaLeaks

KARACHI: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement has decided **t to side with the opposition on the issue of the PanamaLeaks against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and it would remain neutral, sources said on Tuesday.

According to sources privy to the development, the MQM has reservations over the offshore companies of the leaders of opposition parties and, therefore, the party has decided **t to support the joint opposition.

A senior MQM leader said that as a matter of fact except for the MQM, the names of leaders of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, PPP and other parties appeared in the PanamaLeaks.

Secondly, when the MQM was facing a difficult time, **ne of the political parties stood with the MQM.

Meanwhile, the MQM leadership has summoned Mian Ateeq and Barrister Saif to Karachi for deliberations on the issue.

Citing “reservations over some matters”, the MQM did **t attend a joint meeting of the leaders of opposition parties on Tuesday to formulate a joint strategy after the prime minister’s speech in parliament.
