But **w, new*research sheds light on exactly what happens in the brain when someone takes a psychedelic. Taking LSD leads to increases in activity*in the visual parts of the brain, which helps to explain the visual hallucinations associated with taking the drug, according to the new study, published April 11 in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.
