Tensions were running high in the Greek village of Idomeni on the border of Macedonia*on Monday after a weekend of violence in the informal camp for migrants and refugees.
Protesters pulled a train car into the center of the camp near the main border crossing. There has been a huge police presence there in recent days after a**ther group tried to storm the border on Sunday during riots that lasted more than 7 hours.*
The thousands who have been living in Idomeni for over a month have refused to leave the sprawling camp in hopes the border would open. Most are staying in tents in muddy fields centered around a train station.* Read more...
