Penumbra is releasing a new Microcatheter for Peripheral vasculature at the*Society for Interventional Radiology’s 2016 meeting being held in Vancouver this week. The Lantern is intended for helping to deliver contrast agents and tiny devices such as occlusion coils into the narrow Peripheral vasculature where only tiny catheters can travel.
The device received FDA clearance late last year and Penumbra is finally making it available for interventional radiologists in various lengths and tip shapes. The tips are radiopaque to be easily spotted under fluoroscopy and the firm promises rapid Flow of delivered contrast fluids*through the interior lumen.
