A bereaved man from Baoji in Shaanxi, China, has been arrested after he attacked a nurse at Baoji Central Hospital by dousing her with petrol.

According to local news reports, the man identified only by his surname Da ambushed the nurse, Li Ming, at random at in the lift and threatened to burn her and the hospital down after pouring a can of petrol on her.

While struggling to get away from her assailant, Li received several blows on the head from Da.
