Rescuers using drones search for people missing after UK power station collapse

LONDON — Rescuers using sniffer dogs and drones are searching for three people missing after an unused power station near Oxford collapsed Tuesday, killing one person and leaving five more injured.

Power supplier Npower said part of the old power station collapsed while a demolition contractor was working on it. Eyewitnesses said they heard a loud explosion.

“The remainder of the building is very unsafe which is hampering search," Simon Furlong, Oxfordshire assistant chief fire ******r, said at the scene Wednesday morning, according to an emailed statement. "This is a very difficult situation with a very unstable structure." Read more...
