Dr. Luke issues statement: Kesha's rape allegations are 'outright lies'
The legal counsel for record producer Lukasz Gottwald — better k**wn by his stage name, Dr. Luke — has issued a statement about his relationship with Kesha Sebert, denying the singer's abuse allegations and accusing both Kesha and her supporters of conducting "a vicious smear campaign to ruin his reputation for financial gain while failing to support their claims."
The statement from Dr. Luke's attorney, Christine Lepera, suggests that Kesha's accusations are financially motivated and that she fabricated reports of abuse in order to leverage a lucrative recording contract with Sony. Kesha, meanwhile, has endured financial losses due to attorney fees and a dramatically diminished income that came as a result of her music career being put on hold since 2012's Warrior was released.
