Panel moots new **rms for areas to be 'drought-hit'
The state government?s sub-committee on drought on Tuesday recommended that the government declare as ?drought-affected? areas where the average rainfall recorded is 50% or below. It said the report, to be sent to the central government for a drought relief package, should be advanced to mid-October instead of December.
