DePuy Synthes Releases Two New Mitek Sports Medicine RF Arthroscopy Devices DePuy Synthes‘ Mitek Sports Medicine, itself a J&J firm, is unveiling its latest radiofrequency Devices for use in arthroscopic surgical procedures. The VAPR TRIPOLAR 90 and the VAPR ARCTIC suction electrodes are used to ablate and coagulate soft tissue, both featuring the firm’s COOLPULSE tech**logy that doesn’t let nearby tissue heat up too much while allowing for rapid removal of what does need ablating.
The VAPR TRIPOLAR 90 is intended for shoulder arthroscopies, featuring a new tip that’s supposed to optimize the radiofrequency effect on the target tissue. There’s also an integrated suction flow control system that helps the surgeon have a clear view of the working area.
The VAPR ARCTIC, with its flexible tip is made for hip arthroscopies, is offering bipolar energy delivery and integrated suction. The tip can bend to 110 degrees and can be used independently since there’s ** need for separate suction or additional electrodes.
