Bahrain has arrested a mi**r attempting to enter the kingdom from neighbouring Saudi Arabia with "bomb-making materials" he is suspected of bringing from Iraq, authorities said on Monday. The suspect was detained on Sunday as he was returning to Bahrain by bus across the 25-kilometre (16-mile) causeway that connects the archipelago with Saudi Arabia, police and prosecutors said. Chief prosecutor Ahmed al-Hamadi said that electronic components that could be used in bomb-making had been found in his possession. He was suspected of taking delivery of them from a Bahraini fugitive in Iraq with a view to delivering them to the flashpoint Shiite village of Sitra outside the capital Manama, Hamadi said in a statement carried by the official BNA news agency.
