Former Stone Temple Pilots frontman Scott Weiland has an**unced the Release date of his upcoming Album "Blaster" as well as a string of Tour dates in support of the Album beginning in late February. According to an interview with "Rolling Stone," "Blaster" is set for Release March 31 through Softdrive Records and will be Weiland's first Album with his new backing band The Wildabouts. The Tour in support of "Blaster" kicks off Feb. 22 in Scottsdale, Arizona, and finishes March 14 in Boston, though Weiland will be appearing at several festivals between March and May as well. "Blaster" will be Weiland's third Solo Album overall, his first since 2008's "'Happy' in Galoshes," as well as his first since being fired from the Stone Temple Pilots in 2013 ? he was ultimately replaced by Linkin Park vocalist Chester Bennington. "'"Happy" in Galoshes' was an experimental art record, for the most part," Weiland tells "Rolling Stone." "'Blaster' is definitely a band sound: a stripped down, furry sound with a lot of space between the **tes. But it's tight and to-the-point while keeping that garage rock vibe to it."
