Avengers star Chris Evans eyed to team up with Arrowverse boss on new movie

Avengers star <em/>Chris Evans is reportedly in talks to join the cast of the upcoming Little Shop of Horrors reboot.

The new adaptation will be <em/>directed by Arrow showrunner Greg Berlanti and has already cast Pose star <em/>Billy Porter as the voice of the venus flytrap-looking plant Audrey II.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Evans is in talks to play sadistic dentist Orin Scrivello, the abusive boyfriend of Audrey <em/>who loves to use laughing gas on his patients.

THR adds that the film could see him reunited with his Avengers co-star <em/><em/>Scarlett Johansson, who is in talks for the role of Audrey, while Rocketman’s Taron Egerton is said to be eyeing the role of Seymour.

Little Shop of Horrors follows the story of mild-mannered florist Seymour, who is secretly in love with his co-worker Audrey.

Seymour finds fame when he discovers a venus flytrap-looking plant he names ‘Audrey II,’ but things soon take a dark turn when the plant demands to be fed human blood, and eventually people themselves.<em/>

Responding to the story on Twitter, Evans teased fans by sharing a simple tooth emoji and an exclamation mark.

Evans was last seen in <a class="body-link"/><a class="body-link" href="https://www.digitalspy.com/movies/a28952786/chris-evans-knives-out-review-critics-reactions/" target="_blank" data-vars-ga-outbound-link="https://www.digitalspy.com/movies/a28952786/chris-evans-knives-out-review-critics-reactions/" rel="noopener noreferrer">Knives Out where director Rian Johnson was confident he could play “a real dick”.

Speaking to Digital Spy in December Rian explained:<strong/> “I had seen â?? obviously, I love Chris in the Marvel movies â?? but then I saw him in this Kenneth Lonergan play Lobby Hero where he played a real dick. And I was like ‘he’s really good at that’. And he’s such a good actor.

“He’s got such a range, and I think he enjoyed tapping into this and doing something a bit different.”

Avengers: Endgame is out now on DVD, Blu-ray, 3D, 4K and digital download.
