In Iran's capital, Tehran, the government didn't want the political opposition getting a foothold during a previous election season. They didn't want the satellite TV broadcasting information into the country or into the city where the most voters were. Those controlling the political structure and government decided to use microwave interference throughout the city stopping those incoming satellite TV signals. Many folks said they could hear buzzing in their ears, and they got severe headaches.
