Ive been riding for about eight years at a riding school where it?s a group lesson once a week, and you do nothing about horse care. I have also had a years worth of volunteer experience at an RDA yard where I was heavily involved in the care of the horses. I?m looking to get a horse on full loan in the next few weeks, I was just wondering if there are things I need to learn e.g. how to put a rug on, how to groom, how to lead a horse etc. (Obviously I know how to do all these examples) I know first aid is pretty important, I have basic knowledge and the yard owners daughter in law is a veterinary nurse who looks at the scrapes and cuts of the horses on the yard and treats them pretty much for free. Any suggestions will be appreciated, I?m very eager to learn more!
