Inauguration, and the Women's March, will give Airbnb its biggest-ever weekend in DC

Next weekend, 15,000 visitors are set to stay at Airbnbs in Washington, D.C.*

That will be the most guests to use Airbnb in the District since the home-rental company's launch. In a blog post, Airbnb outlined the demand surrounding inauguration weekend.*

Much of that demand — although Airbnb didn't say how much — is also for the Women's March on Washington on Jan. 21, the day after inauguration.*

"Airbnb guest arrivals for the presidential inauguration were initially projected to reach 10,000 and bring in over $3.5 million in earnings to DC-area hosts," Airbnb's public policy arm, Airbnb Citizen, wrote in a blog post Friday. "Today, more than 15,100 guests arrivals are booked for this three-day period, with 13,000-plus guests booked for the evening of January 20, 2017 — representing the biggest night ever for Airbnb arrivals in the District of Columbia.
