Weather Channel turns to augmented reality for 2016 hurricane season coverage

This hurricane season, the Weather Channel intends to virtually flood its studio in order to encourage people in harms' way to evacuate from an approaching hurricane. Last year, the Weather Channel first unveiled its augmented reality capabilities, including a startlingly realistic tornado simulation in the studio.
For the 2016 hurricane season, the network is adding a data dimension to its augmented reality features.
