Ohio Supreme court ruled on Wednesday that the state can go ahead with the execution of a convicted inmate who survived a botched execution.
Romell Broom's attempted execution in 2009 was called off after officials tried for two hours to administer lethal injection *****.*The executioners unsuccessfully tried to hook up an IV before the execution was eventually called off.
Then-gover**r Ted Strickland (D) officially halted the execution, but*Broom has remained on death row*in Ohio ever since.
Broom's attorney said giving the state prisons agency a second chance would amount to cruel and unusual punishment and double jeopardy for their client, but the court ruled 4-3 that the new attempt at an execution could go ahead.* Read more...
