Plot lines are colliding as 'Happy Valley' reaches its halfway point

Having left the Calder Valley (http://mashable.com/2016/02/16/happy-valley-episode-2-recap/#jvpfP9C9QaqE?utm_campaign=&utm_context=textlink&utm_medium=rss&utm_source=) in a rather sorry state of affairs after Detective John Wadsworth murdered Vicky Fleming (the woman with whom he was having an affair), we return this week to yet a**ther murder investigation. But, rather than jumping straight into the action, we are instead met with a somewhat reluctant Catherine Cawood. Sat in perhaps the most uninviting room across from perhaps the most uninviting shrink, Catherine is in therapy and she isn’t best pleased about it

Posing questions about her suicidal thoughts, the therapist asks Catherine whether she wants to talk about it. “**.” Moving on, the two discuss how Catherine was able to come out of the period of her life that resulted in a breakdown following her daughter’s death and, forthright as ever, she informs him: “You’ve still got to pay the mortgage at the end of it all.” At this point, Cawood tells the therapist that it was something that she had done that landed her in his company Read more...
