People at the place panicked and ran into the water to help. “The deputy governor of Aceh and his entire entourage were successfully evacuated safely. There were no casualties in this incident,” Head of the Administrative Bureau of the Aceh Regional Secretariat, Akkar Arafat, said in his statement. Akkar said that Dek Fadh paid a working visit to the Pameu area, Central Aceh to directly observe the condition of the people affected by the flood. The group had to board a raft because access to it was cut off due to floods and landslides. “During the crossing, the emergency raft used overturned, causing the deputy governor and his entourage to fall into the river and rescue efforts were immediately carried out,” Akkar said.
