It controlled itself well after impact. I dare say a lot better than a human would in those circumstances

I was charging my car and this guy in a model s next to me had something similar happen. He had autopilot on and was just cruising on the 405 when his autopilot just decided it was going to switch lanes when there was no lane to his left. He hit the wall. And recently my autopilot has been wanting to change lanes into a non existent lane
“Yay me got self drive car”

Yeah it’s specifically not supposed to be used in places with construction, like here, for this reason, it’s not that smart.
I remember seeing an article about this specific one a long time ago – it wasn’t just a problem with autopilot on that specific car, because a Youtuber with the same car had autopilot on and it would have done the same thing if the tuber didn’t correct it.
Autopilot won’t be ready for quite some time I am afraid.
