Replicating hairdressers results because I’m harming my hair…

Hello guys, I want hairdressers advice, I keep getting messed up by hairdressers who keep getting the wrong hair colour. I have to go my roots every 4-6 weeks to cover my greys but I’m using semi permanent colour because ultimately I want to go lighter and put highlights in.

I found the perfect colour but it’s a box dye. Can anyone professionals, based on the colour and number of box dye attached, tell me how to use professional hair dye to achieve same colour.

  1. Hi /u/Traditional_Bell_926, thanks for posting your hair for us to see! If you have a hair dye you used or any other relevant information (e.g., Previous color, bleach, or toner used, etc.), please reply to this comment with that information so that everyone can see it. Thanks!

  2. Hi, hairdresser here. I specialize in color, 2 + decades experience.

The shade you have shown in the photo on the box is a pearl tone.

Pearl tones contain pigments of blue, pink, violet.

If you are 10% and more grey, and just slapping this on, the grey will pick up the pearl undertones giving it a violet effect, because our greys have not been filled.

This shade would not be suitable for you in this case.
