Djakarta – Heavy rain accompanied by strong winds caused trees to fall and houses to collapse in Ciampea Bogor, West Java (West Java). One person was injured when the house collapsed. Head of the Bogor Regency BPBD Emergency and Logistics Division, M Adam Hamdani, said that a fallen tree blocked access to the vehicle on Jl Raya Ciampea. The incident apparently took place around 12.15 WIB due to heavy rain accompanied by strong wind. “Due to the intensity of heavy rain accompanied by strong winds for quite a long time, the banyan tree on Jalan Raya Ciampea-Bojong Rangkas broke,” Adam said in a written statement on Sunday (21/12/2025). Handling is needed from the relevant agencies,” he added. Heavy rain accompanied by strong winds also caused a housing unit in Cicadas Village, Ciampea District to collapse at almost the same time. The resident of the house, Rukiah, was injured in her arms and legs and had bruises on her back as a result of the debris from the house. “Due to extreme weather accompanied by rain and strong wind, with high intensity and over a long period of time, 1 house unit collapsed. The injured victim, Rukiah, was taken to the Cibungbulang Community Health Center and is being treated,” said Adam. Adam said that another factor in the house collapsing was due to the fragile construction of the building. The house could not be inhabited because it was dangerous and the residents were temporarily evacuated. “The collapsed house has not yet been repaired because the structure of the stilt house pillars has collapsed. Some items cannot be evacuated because they are fragile and are at risk of collapsing and collapsing again. Further handling is needed from the parties involved,” said Adam. “The injured victim was treated by the Cibungbulang Community Health Center and for now the victim is sheltering at his son’s house in Cibungbulang,” he added.
