ISLAMABAD: A mega project to install Pakistan’ s first 217-foot tall Ferris Wheel at the Fatima Jinnah Park (F-9 Sector) has been shelved as security agencies termed it a ‘security risk’ in the capital city. “The idea to install the Ferris Wheel at Fatima Jinnah Park was floated given the popularity of ‘London Eye”, a 443-tall Wheel installed near the River Thames in London, but security agencies termed it a security risk due to highly sensitive installations near the park,” the sources said.
The sources said a ****** of important buildings including the Naval Headquarters and universities alongside the Margalla Road and in front of Fatima Jinnah Park became one of the main reasons that forced the security agencies to show their grave reservations over this highly ambitious project. Installation of the giant Ferris Wheel was part of the Plan to set up a Safari Park over 100 acres of land to attract local and foreign tourists in the federal capital. A senior official of CDA said the transfer of administrative powers of Fatima Jinnah Park had become a hot issue between the civic agency and Islamabad Metropolitan Corporation (IMC) so it was also a question who would carry out the project of installation of Ferris Wheel in the park. To a question, he said the security agencies had shared a report with the high government officials that termed the Ferris Wheel project a security risk in the capital city. Despite repeated attempts, CDA Chairman Maroof Afzal was **t available for comments. أكثر... ??????? ??????: Plan to install 217-foot tall Ferris Wheel in capital shelved || ??????: ahlam1399 || ??????: اسم منتداك
