SAHIWAL: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Thursday inaugurated the first unit of the 1320MW Sahiwal Coal Power Project.
The
Sahiwal Coal Power Plant has two units each having a capacity of 660 megawatts. It is the first
Project completed under the CPEC project.
On the occasion, Chinese engineers briefed the prime minister on the project.
The
Power plant has already been connected with the national grid. The plant will produce electricity at a cost of Rs8.11 per unit power.
The prime minister had laid the foundation stone of the
Project on May 30, 2014.
