ISLAMABAD: The Shariat Appellate Bench of the Supreme Court of Pakistan on Tuesday dismissed acquittal applications of a woman and her two co-accused convicted for life term for forcing a nine-year-old girl to ***ual abuse.
The three-member bench headed by Justice Asif Saeed Khan Khosa heard the case.
It is to mention here that Aziz, a resident of Butkhela, married Haleema and divorced her after the birth of a daughter. Later, he sold his daughter Khushboo to Safia for Rs 15,000. Safia forced the girl for ***ual abuse. The police, later, recovered the girl.
After reporting of the incident in newspapers, the Peshawar High Court chief justice took a suo motu **tice. The court awarded life sentence to Safia and her accomplices Aziz and Gull Zamin.
The accused filed a petition before the Shariat Court which rejected it. Later, they approached the Supreme Court of Pakistan. The SC also dismissed their applications, maintained the sentence and disposed of the case.
