Jeddah, June 30 (IANS/WAM) The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the Arab League have called for a ceasefire in Syria during the holy month of Ramadan. Iyad Ameen Madani, the secretary-general of the OIC, and Nabil Al Arabi, the secretary-general of the Arab League, made a joint appeal urging all parties to the conflict in Syria to commit to a full ceasefire and put a halt to all acts and forms of violence and fighting on the occasion of Ramadan.
