Former Liverpool FC goalie David James will tackle charity Great British Bake Off

</p>Former Liverpool FC goalkeeper David James will be hoping to show heâ??s just as handy off the pitch as he was on it when he takes part in a charity Great British Bake Off.

The ex-Reds goalie, who was famously one of the clubâ??s designer suit wearing â??Spice Boysâ??, may be adding a dash of spice to his cooking in a four-part celebrity series raising cash for Sport Relief.

James joins Liverpool-born actress Alison Steadman and his Former teammate Jamie Redknappâ??s wife Louise in the tent with judges Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood critiquing their culinary efforts.

A team of 16 famous names have signed up for the challenge, which will be screened by the BBC ahead of Sport Relief in March next year. Others taking part include Prime Ministerâ??s wife Samantha Cameron, singers Kimberly Walsh, will Young and Former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell and comedian Jason Manford.

Episodes will be presented by a different host, with contestant Ade Edmondsonâ??s wife Jennifer Saunders, comics Ed Byrne and Sarah Millican, and Bake Offâ??s regular host Mel Giedroyc each fronting an edition.
