English rugby fan attacked in ?racially aggravated assault? in Welsh town centre afte
An English rugby fan was viciously attacked by a gang of men just hours after a big international clash between the two countries, police have said.
Dyfed-Powys Police are appealing for information regarding what they describe as a â??racially aggravated assaultâ?* in Llanelli , around three hours after Wales had defeated England on February 23. it is understood the 29-year-old victim had been watching the rugby match in the town centre and then walked through Llanelli on his way home. According to police he walked past Llanelli Magistratesâ?? Court and then down Bridge Street and at around 8.15pm, as he was walking near the Credit Union shop, he was allegedly attacked by a group comprising of three or four men. </p>  The view from their seats Itâ??s unknown what exactly was said during the assault but he was reportedly punched several times in the head, and suffered injuries to his eye and forehead. An ambulance was called to the scene but the victim was conveyed to hospital by police who had attended the scene. Police are now investigating the assault and are asking anyone with information to contact PC211 Owensآ* at Llanelli Police Station by calling 101.
