LONDON: Harry and Meghan asked for donations to seven charities instead of Gifts – but they still got sent loads of weird and wonderful Gifts anyway. Among the pressies was the honour of two koalas being named after them at Taronga Zoo, near Sydney, with the Australian prime minister giving the couple matching Akubra hats as well. The hats are hand-made in Dempsey, New South Wales, and were described by Australian prime minister as a ‘very Australian present’. The government also donated $10,000 to the Australian International Military Games Limited. French President Macron picked out a very French gift for the couple, which also tipped a wink to Britain’s greatest spy James Bond. The couple were sent a S.T Dupont gift set, which included several top French brands all with individual engraving. S.T Dupont have been tasked with sending Gifts across the channel for over 70 years with French president Vincent Auriol presented a bespoke travel case to the future Queen Elizabeth in celebration of her marriage to Prince Philip in 1947.
