AL-KHOBAR - A Lawyer has called for setting up special courts to look into corruption cases to reduce the time general courts take for processing such cases. The long court proceedings give corrupt officials an opportunity to escape justice, he said, adding that the long process leaves many legal loopholes and the system fails to deter the "thieves" from playing with justice. This is what the litigation system is aiming at through establishing specialist courts for commercial, personal status, labor and criminal cases," Al-Suwailim said. He added: "The setting up of special courts for corruption cases will have positive results in monitoring, combating and holding corrupt people accountable because the courts will expedite investigations into such cases and reveal their circumstances.
