ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan on Thursday said Nawaz Sharif?s only aim is to pressurise the judiciary to broker another NRO. He said Asif Ali Zaradri also negotiated the same with Musharraf. Imran Khan was addressing the media outside the Islamabad Anti-Terrorism Court on Thursday.
The PTI chief alleged that Punjab chief minister murdered people through police but nobody arrested him. He said: ?I am convinced that our current prime minister is nothing except a puppet made to sit there so that corruption can prevail.? Speaking about the Lodhran election which was won by the PML-N?s candidate, Khan said the fact that the young Ali Tareen managed to get so many votes is a major accomplishment for someone contesting the election for the first time. ?A huge amount of money has been spent during the Lodhran elections to gain votes while changing the minds of the people,? he alleged. ?They are all a mafia involved in corruption. Everyone is afraid of Nawaz Sharif?s possible conviction in corruption references due to which such tactics are being used,? he said. ?Nawaz Sharif acts like he did nothing wrong after stealing millions of dollars from this country as he keeps making contemptuous remarks and keeps asking "Mujhe Kyun Nikala" even though he knows what he has done,? Khan claimed. He said it is funny how terrorism cases were filed against him even though the protest sit-in in 2014 was part of a political struggle. Earlier, Imran Khan appeared before an Islamabad Anti-Terrorism Court in four cases including the 2014 PTV attack case. During the hearing, Imran?s counsel informed the court that the cases against him are undemocratic but the ATC judge said the cases are in court for which the law ought to be followed. Moreover, the PTI chief filed two petitions in the court pleading his acquittal and the other for granting an exemption from appearance in the court. The court ordered copies of both requests to be provided to the prosecution. Imran?s counsel also requested a decision on acquittal before he was indicted in the case. The court adjourned the case until February 26 when the remaining cases of the sit-in violence would also be heard. Moreover the judge observed that Imran would have to appear in the court until his exemption was approved. During the hearing presided over by judge Shahrukh Arjumand Khan, Imran argued that holding a political gathering was not terrorism. ?What type of democracy is this that for holding a political gathering, I have been charged with terrorism,? he asked. The judge however told the PTI chief to address the court through his lawyer. After the hearing, when a reporter asked him why he did not take his vehicle inside the complex up to its main entrance as former prime minister Nawaz Sharif did during his corruption hearings, Imran said he is an ordinary citizen and not royalty. أكثر... ??????? ??????: Nawaz pressing judiciary to get NRO: Imran || ??????: ahlam1399 || ??????: اسم منتداك
