Trump said in answer to reporters´ questions as he arrived for a visit at the Pentagon. ?If for any reason it shuts down, the worst thing is what happens to our military.?Meanwhile, after a presidential tweet, White House said President Donald Trump backs a short-term bill to fund the US government that the House of Representatives will vote to avert a government shutdown. ?The president supports the continuing resolution introduced in the House,? White House spokesman Raj Shah said in a statement. Questions about Trump´s support arose earlier on Thursday after he said on Twitter that a children´s healthcare provision in the stopgap legislation should be part of a long-term solution not a short-term bill. The US Senate on Thursday passed a bill to renew the National Security Agencyâ??s warrantless internet surveillance program for six years and with minimal changes, overcoming objections from civil liberties advocates that it did too little to safeguard the privacy of Americans.
