Jahangir Khan Tareen resigns as PTI Secretary General
  ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Secretary Genera Jahangir Khan Tareen on Saturday resigned from party position, a* day after Supreme Court of Pakistan disqualified him for life* . Posting his resignation on Twitter Tareen said ,* "I have resigned as SG of Pakistan Tehrik e Insaf . Will remain part of the struggle. Hoping to see Imran Khan as Pakistan?s next PM , IA" Tareen, a close aide and confidant of Imran Khan,* was disqualified for not being honest in declaring his property in the United Kingdom.* "I have spent all my life on principals and moral values and I fee that morally it is not justified for me to continue as Secretary General of PTI. It is hereby for the reasons mentioned above, I humbly submit my resignation from the post of the Secretary General of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf," Tareen wrote in his resignation letter to the PTI chairman. "I will always remain available to PTI as political worker in the fight against the political status quo and towards building a "Naya Pakistan". You will always find me as a sincere friend. Your friendship and leadership is an asset. Wishing you all the best. I hope to see you as next PM of Pakistan" A three-member bench of the apex court, headed by Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar and comprising Justice Umer Ata Bandial and Justice Faisal Arab as members, on Friday announced the much-awaited judgment on identical petitions filed by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Hanif Abbasi. Abbasi sought the disqualification of Imran Khan and Jahangir Tareen for not disclosing their assets and ownership of offshore companies. The judgment was slated to be announced at 2pm; however, it was delayed to half an hour.
