Extremism threat to country?s progress, prosperity: Mamnoon

ISLAMABAD: President Mamnoon Hussain has said terrorists have no religion and Extremism was a threat to the country, according to Geo News report.
Addressing the International Seeratun Nabi (PBUH) conference here on Saturday, he said miscreants carried out an attack in Peshawar on the occasion of Eid Miladun Nabi (PBUH). He said ?any person who believes in Holy Prophet (PBUH) cannot kill any innocent person.?
Extremism is a threat to country?s progress, prosperity and security, he added.
?The nation needs to be united to tackle terrorism. Everyone must work hard to overcome the menace of extremism.? The people of Pakistan reject terrorism and agents of terror, he said, adding ?nation wants menace of terrorism to end completely.?
The theme of the conference is: ?Leading principles of national leadership in an Islamic state in the light of the teachings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).?
An official said around 2,500 people from all walks
of life, including Ulema,
scholars, students of religious seminaries and universities, and representatives of
chambers of commerce and
industry are attending the
conference.
Twenty scholars from Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Tunisia, Morocco, Indonesia, Turkey, Kazakhstan, China, Bahrain, Egypt, Algeria and Afghanistan would participate in the conference, the official added.
