George Takei, accused of sexual assault from 1981, responds with a denial

George Takei is the latest in an ever-growing lineup of public figures to be accused of committing sexual assault. In his first public statement on the matter since the allegations surfaced on Friday night, the Star Trek actor denied it.

Scott R. Brunton, shared his story with The Hollywood Reporter and state that, in 1981, Takei attempted to undress and inappropriately touch the former actor and model after the two ended an evening together with drinks at Takei's condo.

The two apparently became friendly in 1981 when they met in a bar and swapped numbers. Brunton was in a relationship at the time, but he and Takei connected after Brunton's difficult breakup.
