JIT seeks to file NAB reference against PM Nawaz, sons
 ISLAMABAD: The Joint Investigation Team (JI) has recommended in its final report to the Supreme Court of Pakistan a reference be filed against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif his sons Hussain Nawaz and Hasan Nawaz with the National Accountability Bureau, country's top anti-corruption watchdog. According to Geo News, the JIT has found disparities between the wealth and k**wn source of income of the respondents. The report suggests that a reference should be filed against Nawaz Sharif, his sons and daughter Maryam Nawaz under Section 9 of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) ordinance 1999. The JIT submitted it 256-page report to the Supreme Court of Pakistan on Monday two months after it was formed in the light of Supreme Court of Pakistan’s order in Panama Papers case. The report, a copy of which is available with Geo News, has also found discrepancies in the life style of the respondents and their wealth. The report reads: "Significant gap/disparity amongst the k**wn and declared sources of income and the wealth accumulated by the Respondent **. 1, 6, 7 and 8 have been observed," said JIT report. “The financial structure and health of the companies in Pakistan having linkages to the Respondents also do **t substantiate the wealth of Respondents”. "PM Nawaz should **t resign" Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has chaired a meeting of his lawyers and constitutional experts where he was asked **t to resign. According to Geo News, the prime minister has asked legal experts to prepare the response to the JIT report which seeks to file a reference against him and his sons with the National Accountability Bureau (NAB). Calling the JIT's proposal a sweeping statement, Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz lawmaker Talal Chaudhry said: " After reviewing the report we will see what options do we have". "We are a political party, and we will give political reaction," he said. Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz lawmaker Danyal Aziz has demanded full report of the Joint Investigation be made public. “People are **t too simple to **t understand this game being played,” said he. Those who gave lectures about transparent system made their way out of the court hiding their faces. “If everything is being done transparently, then why is volume 10 of the report being hidden,”. "Tip of the iceberg" Addressing a press conference, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman Imran Khan on Monday called the JIT report as tip of the iceberg and demanded Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif step down.
