Citing sources, ESPN says that the Knicks have a "legitimate" interest in re-signing Rose. At pre-draft workouts, Knicks president Phil Jackson told reporters the team was listening to Rose's pitch. In early April, Rose was ruled out for the season with a torn meniscus in his left knee, which might have hurt his asking price going into free agency. Rose spent the first seven years of his career with the Chicago Bulls. He was the NBA MVP in 2011, but then at torn ACL in the 2012 playoffs began a stretch where he was plagued by injuries throughout the rest of his tenure there. In New York, Rose had somewhat of a rejuvenation. In 64 games, he averaged 18 points and 4.4 assists. But the Knicks finished 31-51 on the season.
